As part of activities to round up its Grassroots Voter Education Program/ "Door to Door" Exercise towards elections,the Platform for Youths and Women Development in collaboration with the African National Democratic Institute invited an American Congresswoman Tracy Abrams to share her experience on elections as a black woman in the United States.
Congresswoman Tracy Abrams urged Nigerian electorates to mobilize and vote in candidates of their choice during elections,appreciating the reception organized in her honour by the Platform for Youths and Women Development as part of a community engagement activity for Nigerian electorates towards the general elections.
She also took her audience through the rough and tough patches in her quest to attain the American dream despite all the odds against her as a young black woman candidate.
Earlier the organizers if the event,Kingdom Ogoegbunam, Convener, Executive Director, Platform for Youths/Women Development as well as Chris Formunyoh,a Senior Associate African National Democratic Institute, said the purpose is to round up the Door to Door Exercise to sensitize the electorates on the upcoming elections.
Tracy Abrams is part of a high level electoral monitoring team delegation from the United States to monitor the Nigerian general elections.
