Speaker Calls for Unity of all Nigerians especially political actors in the forth coming 2023 General Election .
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila has urged Members of the House of Representatives and indeed Nigerians to unite towards the success of the upcoming general election scheduled for February and March 2023.
The Speaker made the call while welcoming members back to the chambers for a new legislative year after the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Gbajabiamila while acknowledging that the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government, emphasized the need for those serving in government to carry out their constitutional duty of protecting the lives and property of all citizens and promote their well-being above all else.
The Speaker also acknowledged the efforts of the men and women in uniform who according to him, are stationed in different parts of the country, taking risks and offering the supreme sacrifice to keep the peace.
He urged Lawmakers to looked forward to a successful year of measurable achievement in the joint task of nation-building.
