Reps Condemn incessant abductions,disappearance and kidnappings across Nigeria.
The House of Representatives has Condemned the incessant abductions,disappearance and kidnappings going on across the country.
The House took the decision following a motion under matters of urgent public importance on the floor of the House by Hon Unyime Idem on the unfortunate kidnapping of Mr. Enobong Williamson who is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) treasurer in Akwa Ibom state .
Idem urged the Federal Government to ensure the high-rising incidents of kidnapping nationally are adequately tackled head-on.
He also urged the House to condemned in strong terms the high cases of insecurity across the country and further called on the Inspector General of Police to intensify efforts to effect the release of Mr. Williamson and the apprehension of the perpetrators.
In a related development, Hon Aniekan Umanah in a motion has urged the House of Representatives to prevail on the National Emergency Management Agency,NEMA, to provide relief materials for the victims of the recent fire in the main market in the Abak region of Akwa Ibom state .
Relevant committees of the House were mandated to ensure compliance.
