The resignation of a member of the Board of Trustee of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Professor A.B.C. Nwosu, 44-day to the presidential election will not affect the party in the election.
This was the submission of an analysis, Barr.
Akintayo Balogun on ATN Politics. Barr. Balogun while commenting on the former
minister’s resignation from PDP said, Nwosu’s resignation will not affect the
party both at the state and national level because, Nigerians have made their choice.
“I don’t see it
having any implication on the party because every Nigerian who has an intention
to vote in this next election, they already have their candidate. His
resignation now might not do anything much to the ambition of members of the
party whether at the state or national level,” he said.
He questioned the
motive of Nwosu’s resignation few weeks to the election after a long period of
silence.\
He said, “In the
last one year when this issue has been raging between Governor Wike and his
team and Atiku and his team, we have almost not seen this former minister make
any statement or at the front burner or probably leading any charge. We’ve
heard other persons intervening in trying to rescue the situation but we’ve
seen and we’ve not heard anything from him. Why it is now? Why at this point?”
Professor A.B.C.
Nwosu, had resigned his membership of the PDP in a letter addressed to the
National Chairman. Nwosu in the letter hinged his resignation on the party’s
disregard for its rotational principle.
