Group Wants Tinubu To Stop Herdsmen Killings.
Group known as AlaIgbo Development Foundation, has called on President Bola
Tinubu to address the
continuous killing of innocent Nigerians by Fulani herdsmen in the
south-east and other parts of
southern Nigeria and the Middle Belt.
The group wondered why these killers were never arrested or prosecuted by
law enforcement agencies.
A statement by Abia Onyike, National Secretary, said serious steps must be
taken by the Federal
Government to save Nigeria from sliding into a religious war, adding that
the consequences were bound
to be very disastrous.
The statement also said, the support to the policy of ranching means that
it is not the duty of the
Government to provide lands and financial resources for ranching
facilities, as the rearing of cattle is
purely a private business and should be treated as such.
The group urges all those embarking on their struggles for
self-determination to adopt a peaceful and
non-violent approach, adding that, the struggle for self-determination is a
fight to deepen the
democratic rights of ethnic nationalities.
