Navy Arrests Suspected Boat Moving Crude To Cameroon.

Nigerian Navy says it arrested three men at Ibaka in the Mbo Local Government Area of AkwaIbom state as they were ferrying 10,000 litres of petrol to neighbouring Cameroon.

The Commanding Officer of the Navy Forward Operating Base, Ibaka, Capt. UcheAneke, who disclosed this said, the suspects, the boat, and the petrol have been handed over to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps in Ibaka.

He warned individuals and groups involved in the illegal business of petroleum products smuggling to desist or prepare to face the wrath of the law and criminals to steer clear of Nigeria’s territorial waters, stressing that, the security agencies would not condone illegal activities in the country’s coastal areas.

Receiving the suspects and the exhibits, the Head of NSCDC’s Anti-vandalism Unit in AkwaIbom, Mr Michael Asibor, also promised diligent prosecution of the case.
