Speeding Driver
Kills Siblings.
Two teenage pedestrians suspected to be siblings were killed
after a speeding vehicle knocked them down on the Imowo-Ibadan Road in the
Ijebu Ode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and
Enforcement Agency, Bolaji Akinbiyi, adding that, upon seeing the havoc that had
occurred and the lifeless bodies of the children, some youths in the area
attempted to attack the driver and set the vehicle ablaze, while, the quick
intervention of the TRACE officials, the Army, the police, and other emergency
responders, however, put the situation under control.
TRACE spokesperson, while commiserating with the family of the
deceased, urged drivers to avoid speeding when on the expressway and
pedestrians to take caution while using the road.
The spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command of the
Federal Road Safety Corps, Florence Okpe, disclosed this in a statement, while,
injured victims were reportedly taken to Lagos Emergency Centre, Ojota, for
medical treatment.
