Residents Decry
Absence Of Abba Kyari At Mum’s Burial.
Some residents of Borno
State have expressed anger after suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba
Kyari failed to attend his mother’s burial as a result of his detention in
prison.
The residents are not
also happy that, Abba Kyari has not been granted bail even though the alleged
drug trafficking charge filed against him by the National Drug Law Enforcement
Agency, is a bailable offense, while, Kyari ‘s mother, Yachilla Imam Kyari, died
in the early hours of Sunday, 5th May, 2024.
A statement issued by
the family announcing her death said, she left behind 10 children, five males
and five females, while4, Abba Kyari is the eldest son, and the third among the
10 children.
While Abba Kyari was not
able to attend his mother’s burial, residents of Borno State turned out in
large numbers to pay their respects to Yachilla Imam Kyari, who was buried
according to Islamic rites.
Also speaking at the
burial, a lady who said Kyari helped rescue her husband from kidnappers, wept
when she learnt the cop could not be allowed to bury the mother.
