Minister Says Poor Financing Hampers Power Supply.
Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, says inadequate financing and insufficient gas supply as some of the factors responsible for the energy deficit across the country.
The minister who disclosed this in his opening address at the power sector stakeholders’ interactive dialogue organized by the House of Representatives Committee on Power in Abuja decried the current state of power supply across the country, and assured Nigerians of the determination of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration to address the challenges and make Nigeria a suitable place for business.
He said, no sector can function optimally without the power sector, stressing that, over the years, poor financing, and inadequate gas supply have been responsible for the energy deficit we have in the country.
The event is being attended by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Chairman, Senate Committee on Power, Enyinnaya Abaribe; including, his House of Representatives counterpart, Victor Nwokolo and the Group Managing Director of the Sahara Power Group, MKola Adesina, among others.
