Shrinking Revenue: Senate Vows To Halt Granting Waivers to Agencies

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan has threatened that granting waivers to revenue generating Agencies may be stopped if they are unable to improve on Revenue generation from their agencies.


Lawan stated this while briefing Journalist in Abuja during a brief event marking his 64th birthday.


While lamenting the low revenue turnout from revenue generating agencies he tasked them on the need to improve on funds instead of relying on the Federal Government.


The President of the Senate also made a strong case for those engaged in livestock business to be assisted by the Federal government.


He noted that the livestock sector did not get the attention it deserves from the government and accuse some people of being hypocritical on the issue of possible government support for the livestock business.


Meanwhile, in his concluding remarks, Senator Lawan admitted of the presence of various challenges facing the country but assured that the present government is doing all it can to nip it in the bud/reduce it to barest minimum.
