Imo state: APC conducts primaries in 305 Wards

Imo State All Progressives Congress has commenced the selection process of its

candidates for the LGA Chairmanship and Councillor elections coming up on

September 21 across the 27 Council areas and 305 Wards in the State.

A statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Cajetan Duke, the APC

informed that the exercise will mark a significant step towards its quest to consolidate

on a renewed hope agenda in the state’s political landscape, and assures all

stakeholders of equal opportunities by adhering to the principles of democracy and

internal party mechanisms.

The publicity secretary pointed out that It is the anticipation of the party leadership that

the process will enable the emergence of the most capable and popular candidates that

will fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming LGA elections, stressing that, APC is

committed to upholding what he described as the values of inclusivity, justice, and fair

play throughout the primary electioneering process.

Duke also said, the party’s leadership has put in place measures to ensure a hitch-free

exercise, guaranteeing the participation of all eligible members and enjoined all the

aspirants, and party faithful to conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner by

eschewing any form of violence or malpractice.
