LASWA Assures NIWA Of Waterways Efficiency.
Lagos State Waterways Authority has assured the National Inland Waterways Authority that it will boost efficiency in the state waterways.
The General Manager of LASWA, Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, who disclosed this in Lagos said, the state government will obey the recent supreme court judgment, while, the Supreme Court had in January held that, it was the sole responsibility of the central government to impose levies, and issue licenses to operators in the industry.
He said that, despite the apex court’s judgment, LASWA would not stop its investment in safety and developing the waterways, building Jetties and others to ensure the waterways sector is constantly improving.
