As nation approach the 2023 General Elections, Former President, Goodluck Jonathan has advised Nigerians to embrace good conduct that is capable of leading the nation to a peaceful, and credible elections and one that will be the admire of the world.
President Goodluck Jonathan gave the advise at foundation's 2022 peace conference ahead of the forthcoming elections next year.
Jonathan in his address said the biggest treat to democracy is hate speech, fake news and propaganda saying that it must be discouraged and politicians must be guilded.
President Goodluck Jonathan while delivering his address also advised Politicians to change their perspectives towards power at all means and commit to the interest of the Masses.
He also encouraged constructive conversations geared towards a better Democratic process and its dividend.
"We all need to have a nation before who ever we are supporting can emerge as the President.
Former President however identified the significant improvement in the electoral system he also noted that with the advent of technology there is room for improvement.
Earlier Dr. Mohamed Ibn Chambas former Representative of the Secretary during his keynote address said there is need for political parties and stakeholders to be vigilant pursue peaceful electoral pathway prosecute electoral offenders.
Governor of Bauchi state Gov. Bala Mohammed said leadership should be seen as service and not do or die affair. And Nigerians must work towards electing competent people.
