Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has disbursed over N209.8 million
to 170 primary healthcare centres across the 27 local government areas of
the state.
In a ceremony held at the Government House in Maiduguri, the state capital,
Governor Zulum presented cheques to selected health facilities from each of
the three senatorial zones and charged all facility managers and coordinators
of the local government’s primary healthcare centres to be dedicated to their
responsibilities by ensuring quality services to the people.
Meanwhile, Zulum directed the 27 local government chairpersons to manage
the primary healthcare centres in their domains and ensure optimal services
and also expressed plan to rehabilitate all the primary healthcare centres
across the 27 local government areas of Borno State.
In his address, the State Commissioner for Health and Human Services,
Professor Baba Gana said, the disbursement was part of Zulum’s
commitment to ensuring quality health care to the citizens of Borno state
and to ensure that every person in the state has access to quality healthcare
services.
