APC Chairmen In S’South Want Victories In Edo, Ondo.

Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress, from various states in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria have joined forces to ensure electoral victories for their governorship candidates in Edo and Ondo states.

The decision was reached at a meeting in Calabar following Governorship elections in Edo State in September 2024, while that of Ondo State comes up in November 2024.

In South-South, only Cross River State is governed by an APC governor, Bassey Otu, who is the leader of the party in the region, and he chaired the party plenary meeting in Calabar, and while, addressing the APC dignitaries, Otu sent a note of caution to other parties that APC is ready to capture the zone in order to provide democratic dividends and acceptable leadership.

Speaking on the development, the Zonal Vice Chairman of the Party, Chief Victor Gaidom, said, they particularly resolved to ensure that the party emerges victorious in the forthcoming Edo State governorship election, stressing that, the meeting was highly successful with very fruitful discussions which included their agreement to work for the unity of the party across the South-South states.

The APC state chairmen who attended the meeting were Alphonsus Ogar Eba, Cross River State Chairman; Chief Stephen Ntuk Ekpo, Chairman, Akwa Ibom State; as well as Chief Tony Okocha, Chairman, Rivers State and Hon. Jarrett Tenebe, Chairman, Edo State.
