One Dead,
8 Injured In Dosunmu Market Fire.
Fire outbreak at the Dosunmu market in Lagos Island has
claimed the life of one person and left eight others injured.
The incident, which reportedly occurred on Tuesday,
resulted in severe damage to at least 14 buildings in the area.
This information was disclosed in a statement by Margaret
Adeseye, the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, on Wednesday.
The statement noted that the swift intervention of the
Fire Service helped contain the blaze, although significant damage was already
done.
The statement also pointed out the recurrence of fire
incidents in the Lagos Island market area, despite extensive enlightenment
campaigns.
This is the fifth fire incident in 2024 in the Lagos
Island market.
