Late President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, will
be buried on November 1.
This announcement was made by the national burial committee in Abuja shortly after its
inauguration by Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State. The inauguration, held on Tuesday
in Abuja, included South-East stakeholders, including both current and former senators, as
members.
Iwuanyanwu, a businessman, politician, and philanthropist known for his significant
contributions to various sectors of the country, passed away on July 25.
During a briefing with newsmen after the committee’s formation, Uzodinma, who is also the
Chairman of the South-East Governors’ Forum, stated that the committee was established
to ensure a befitting burial for the late President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo.
Senator Ben Obi, the chairman of the committee, reaffirmed that Iwuanyanwu would be
buried on November 1. He described the late Ndigbo leader as a global citizen, noting his
excellence in various fields.
