Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has commiserated with victims of the recent
flooding that rendered many residents of Gummi Local Government Area homeless and
described it as unfortunate.
This is coming after heavy rainfall at the weekend caused flooding in some areas of the
local government, destroying and submerging many houses in water.
A statement by his spokesman, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the Governor expressed deep
concern and sympathy for the Gummi flood victims, adding that, they have been in
contact with the relevant authorities, leaders, and elders in the local government since
the unfortunate incident”
The statement also said, the Governor had expressed committed to taking all necessary
measures to prevent future occurrences of such sad incidents.
