Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has concluded plans to convene a National Executive
Council meeting of the Labour Party, to dissolve the current leadership of the party has
hit the rock.
This is coming after the governor had recently met with the national chairman of the
party, and Julius where he tendered his intent to convene a NEC meeting, August 31
and argued that the tenure of the party’s current leadership had expired long ago.
But the National Working Committee, insisted that conscious of the fact that the tenure
of the executives was to expire in June 2024, and the National Convention of the Party
was held on March 27, 2024.
In a statement on its official website, the party questioned why Governor Otti, who was
ably represented by his Deputy at the convention that took place in Nnewi, Anambra
State is still calling for the dissolution of leadership, assing that, it was possible to
record the successes it made in the 2023 general election.
