FG To Partner Govt On Youth Development
Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has assured the Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande of adequate support to develop youth talents across the eighteen Local government areas of the State.
The Governor was speaking in Calabar while playing host to the Minister who was on a tour to interact with youths in the state on what areas the Federal Government can lend its support to improve their livelihoods.
According to the Governor, there was a need to invest more in the youth as they are the future of the nation.
Speaking earlier, the Minister disclosed that President Tinubu’s administration is coming up with a plan to ensure that every youth is trained to have at least two skills which will help fight the unemployment rate across the Nation.
The development comes on the heels of the implementation of the Presidential Amnesty Program for ex-agitators in the Niger Delta.
The programme has so far empowered over 30,000 beneficiaries with useful skills which will not be useful to only them, but also to the nation.
