Warns Corps Members Against Local Politics.
National Youth Service Corps, has issued a stern warning
to corps members against meddling in local politics during their service year.
Director General of the corps, Brigadier-General Yusha’u
Ahmed, gave this warning while addressing corps members at the closing of the
2024 Batch ‘A Stream 1′ orientation program in Sokoto on Wednesday.
Ahmed, who implored them not to meddle in local politics,
stressed that the purpose of their posting is to positively impact the lives of
their host communities, urging them to accept their posting in good faith.
The DG, who was represented by Sokoto State NYSC
Coordinator, Usman Yaro, enjoined them to settle into their designated
localities and contribute to their growth, discouraging them from pursuing
redeployment.
He stressed the need to develop skills and encourage an
entrepreneurial mindset inside the Scheme.
Ahmed urged corps members to seize the opportunity to
become self-sufficient and become job and wealth creators after their service
year.
