NSCDC Operatives Dismantle Bunkering Site, Others.
Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have dismantled bunkering site and impounded 9000 litres of automotive gas from oil thieves at Ukwa East local government of Abia state.
The operations were conducted by the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad in a renewed onslaught against the activities of economic saboteurs.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Babawale Afolabi, the illegal bunkering site, a large local Pour-put Boat for conveying locally refined petroleum products, and a loading point were destroyed by the NSCDC team.
Afolabi explained that the Squad through credible Intelligence got wind of oil bunkering activities taking place at Inhandu/Ikwariator Riverside, Ukwa East Council area where an uninterrupted loading and conveyance of AGO concealed in cellophane bags were ongoing and stormed the area.
He said the Intelligence and Investigation department have commenced investigation on the matter, while operatives are on the trails of the oil thieves.
