NSCDC Parades Suspects Accused Of Diverting Food.
Zamfara State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, has paraded two suspects alleged to be involved in the diversion of ready to use therapeutic food meant for a healthcare facility in the Birinin Magaji area of the state.
Addressing newsmen in Gusau, the State capital, the Corps Commandant, Sani Mustapha, said that one Aliyu Labo 63, who is a driver connived with one Abdulahi Suleiman, 45, and a nutritional officer with Birinin Magaji Local Government Area to divert 33 cartons of RUTF.
He said the items were moved to the residence of Labo, who was asked to convey the products to Birinin Magaji Local Government Area.
The State Commandant said that the actions of the duo contravene sections 61, 309 and 315 of the ZPC Law, Number 18, 2024, and the Administration of Criminal Justice Laws.
He said the suspects will be arraigned before a competent court of jurisdiction at the end of the investigations.
He also paraded a suspect, Yahaya Mairake, 60 years, who was alleged to have voluntarily given his son, Muazu Yahaya, 18 years, to some hoodlums for disciplinary purposes, thereby causing grievous harm which eventually led to the death of the boy. The Commandant warned parents to be mindful of the kind of discipline meted out on their wards to avoid such unfortunate incidents.
