PDP Chairmanship Aspirants
Reject Consensus Candidate.
Crisis rocking the Kogi State Chapter of the
People’s Democratic Party has reached a high point where 13 chairmanship
aspirants rejected the consensus candidate to lead the party in the state.
A committee comprising of former governors and
party leaders had endorsed Enemona Anyebe as the consensus candidate for the
PDP chairmanship position in the state, while, at a press conference in Lokoja,
the spokesperson, forum of Kogi state PDP chairmanship aspirants Aruwa Ismaila,
said, the purported endorsement of Anyebe as the party’s consensus candidate
for the office of the state chairman was blatantly misleading and only existed
in the imagination of their sponsors.
The Chairmanship aspirants spoke through the
spokesperson Ismaila Aruwa, at the meeting and advocated for outright rejection
of the review report which even fell far short of the initial Zoning committee
report led by Hon. Tom Zakari.
According to the spokesperson, the leadership
of PDP in Kogi State under Senator Danjuma Laah as Chairman and Senator Philip
Gyunka as Secretary has not put in place or activated any process among the 13
aspirants to arrive at a consensus candidate.
