Diri Threatens To Fire Erring Cabinet Members.

Governor, Douye Diri has warned members of his cabinet that he would not
hesitate to wield the big stick on anyone who performs below expectation.
Diri issued the
warning on Thursday during the 130th session of the State Executive Council, at
Government House, Yenagoa, and implored the cabinet members to key into his
administration’s vision of providing service to people of the state.
The Governor said
his administration’s policies and programmes were having a positive impact in
the state, while, urging the new cabinet members to make service to the state a
priority.
According to the Governor, he was delighted and encouraged that the people appreciated the
developmental projects as attested by accolades from the people of Bayelsa
state.
He particularly mentioned the ongoing construction of the Nembe-Brass road, the completed Sagbama-Ekeremor road, as well as the building and equipping of science, technical and vocational schools among other projects in different sectors across the state, and expressed the optimism that the new commissioners would perform well as they were carefully chosen based on their pedigrees.
