Inaugurates 600-Metre Bridge Project.
There was excitement among natives of Ibeno and Eastern
Obolo communities as President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu commissioned a 600-metre
bridge project.
The Iko-Atabrikang-Akata-Opolom- Okoroutip -Iwouchang
road (section 11) was completed by the Niger Delta Development Commission.
Started about 19 years ago the bridge links not less than
20 communities along the Iko-Atabrikang-Akata-Opolom- Okoroutip -Iwouchang
axis.
Speaking while commissioning the project, Tinubu who was
represented by Senate president, Godswill Akpabio lauded the management of NDDC
for directly touching the lives of the people of the Niger Delta in just one
year in office.
Minister of the Nigeria Delta Development Engr. Abubakar
Momoh, in his remarks, said that the milestone being recorded with the t6
commissioning of the bridge was a product of a performance bond signed between
the management of NDDC and his Ministry.
Governor of AkwaIbom State, Umo Eno who was represented by
the Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Ayakenyi, lauded the NDDC, management for its
commitment to uplifting the lives of the ordinary people in Nigeria while also
pledging support to Mr. President’s administration. Earlier, the MD, NDDC Dr
Sam Ogbuku while thanking Mr for his support noted that the commissioning of
the projects which began last week was in line with the renewed hope agenda of
Mr President.
