Police in Anambra State
have raided a camp belonging to insurgents in Ogbunka community in Orumba South
Local Government Area.
Spokesperson of the
Anambra State Police Command, SP To chukwuIkenga in a press release said the
raid was ordered following constant attacks on police facilities, using
improvised explosive devices, IEDs.
He noted that, In the
hunt for gunmen who attacked two police stations at Awgbu in Orumba North and
Neni in Anaocha LGA in the last two weeks, Police-Led Joint Security Force was
ordered by the Commissioner of Police CP Aderemi Adeoye to identify and destroy
any camp being used by insurgents to launch attacks within the command.
He said police will sustain
the raid in the forests in search of insurgents and their camps, and that it
will eliminate terrorists, rescue abducted victims, and recover firearms and
stolen vehicles in their possession.
