Enyeama Joins Record-Making Goalkeepers.
Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama has been recognized by UEFA as one of the four goalkeepers to have scored a goal in the history of the Champions League.
A post on UEFA’s official website, Ivan Provedel, Sinan Bolat and Hans-Jorg Butt are the other goalkeepers who achieved the feat, while, Enyeama joined the exclusive list when he converted from the spot in Israeli club, Hapoel Tel Aviv’s 3-1 defeat to Olympic Lyon of France on September 9, 2010.
The show stopper later moved to Ligue 1 club, and he also enjoyed a stellar career, while, Butt converted three penalties for Hamburg, Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich in the Champions League during his active days.
Bolat and Provedel, like Enyeama, scored one goal each from the spot.
