Collapsed container truck between the FHA Bridge and the ShopRite
Pedestrian Bridge along Lugbe-Airport Road in Abuja has caused major
gridlock on the route.
Eyewitness said, the truck, which collapsed on the expressway at around 9
am on Tuesday, forced outbound vehicles heading towards the airport to
divert to the opposite lane, further exacerbating congestion on the
expressway.
The Federal Capital Territory Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety
Corps, Muta’a Chorrie, who confirmed the incident said, officers of the FRSC
were on-site, working to remove the container and ease the gridlock.
It could not confirm whether the incident had resulted in any injuries or
fatalities.
