Assembly Approves 24 Special Advisers For Gov.

Bayelsa State House of Assembly has approved the request by Governor Douye Diri to appoint 24 special advisers.

The assembly’s nod was sequel to the letter sent to the legislature by the governor seeking approval for the appointment of the aides.

The letter was titled, ‘Request for approval for the appointment of Special Advisers.’

Names were not attached to the letter which was read on the floor of the assembly by the Clerk of the House, Adogu Kent, during plenary presided over by the Speaker, Abraham Ingobere.

The member representing Southern Ijaw Constituency 2, Edwin Bubou-Obolo, moved the motion for the assembly’s approval of the governor’s request, which was seconded by his Southern Ijaw Constituency 3 counterpart, Marlon Moses.

They unanimously stated that the approval was necessary to provide legislative support to the government.
