Nigeria Immigration Service,NIS, expresses concern over irregular migration.

 The Nigeria Immigration service has expressed concerns over irregular migration through the Country's borders ahead of the 2023 general elections .

Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration service, (NIS), Isah Idris expressed the concern during  the commissioning of assorted radios and communication equipment worth millions of naira donated to the Service by international telecommunications infrastructure giant, IHS towers Nigeria, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, (CSR),in Abuja.

Jere who urged that all hands must be on deck to secure the borders, pointed out that the donation of millions of naira worth of equipment will go a long way to boost national security as well as enhancing the capacity of the Immigration Service to deliver better on its mandate on border patrol operations and strategies to combat recurring trend of irregular migration.

The CG  also commended IHS towers for the partnership and support at this time particularly as the service is deploying regulated internal monitoring and control mechanism ahead of the fast approaching 2023 elections.

Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer, (CEO), IHS towers, Muhammed Darwish, noted the importance of working with security agencies to safeguard Nigeria.

Darwish said the donation of the telecommunication equipments is a small token of appreciation towards services rendered to the country by the immigration service as well as the guidance and leadership of  the comptroller general .
