Cult Rivalry Claims One.
Reprisal clash by two rival cult groups has claimed the
life of 28-year-old Victor Namabebe, along the Amarata suburb of Yenagoa, the
Bayelsa State capital.
ATN gathered that the fierce rivalry which was between
the Greenlanders and the Bobos cult groups broke out and led to the killing.
A resident of the area said the victim stormed the
Amarata/Ebis Mechanic area with some group of boys suspected to be members of
the Greenlanders against a member of Bobos who had allegedly crossed them.
Contacted on the development, the spokesman of the
Bayelsa Police Command, Musa Mohammed confirmed the development and said the
corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue.
He said Police personnel from the A Division mobilised to
the area and found the victim. Upon examination, he was found with various
grievous injuries on the head.
