Govt spend N550b on infrastructure projects, 2024
Lagos
state government has earmarked 550.689 billion naira of the 2.267 trillion naira
budget to develop, maintain, and complete ongoing infrastructural projects in
2024.
The
Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Ope George, stated this during
the 2024 Budget analysis at the Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja.
The 550.689
billion naira represents 24.28 percent of the entire budget.
George
added that the focus will be on the completion of ongoing projects,
particularly in transportation, such as rail network expansion, road
construction, and completion of the Blue/Red Line and other metro projects.
The
commissioner said 55.924 billion naira, representing 2.5 percent, will be used
to provide affordable housing schemes and urban renewal projects to address the
housing deficit.
