Ban Covered Vehicle Plate Numbers.
Bauchi State Police Command has warned against the use of
tinted glasses and covered number plates by unauthorized vehicles in the state.
The Command said that it has observed that the practice
is now on the increase in the state, pointing out that it poses a great risk to
public safety and order.
Spokesman of the Command, Ahmed Wakil, gave the directive
in a statement made available to journalists on Saturday.
He said that the use of tinted glasses and covering of
number plates makes it difficult for security agencies to identify vehicles
used in criminal activities.
Wakil, a Superintendent of Police, called on all
unauthorized users to desist from the practice, warning that the Command would
begin clamping down on defaulters.
He equally called for cooperation from the public to
ensure enforcement of the law, assuring of the commitment of the Bauchi State
Police Command to clamp down on offenders and maintain a secure environment for
all residents.
