Speaker Receives EU International Election Observers; Assures of Nigeria's Readiness for 2023 Election .
The Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has assured that Nigeria is ready for the upcoming 2023 General election noting that the rumors that there will be a postponement is not true.
The speaker made the declaration while receiving a delegation of the European Union(EU) international Election Observers on a courtesy visit.
He noted that though there are some delays in collection of Permanent Voter Cards PVCs, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC is ramping up in that area and that the electoral body has also assured that elections will take place in rural areas to avoid citizens being disenfranchised.
Earlier while commending the Speaker for the role he played in guiding the electoral act,the Leader of the of the EU delegation, Mr. Barry Andrews, noted that the EU international Election Observation mission was invited by the federal government to observe the 2023 General elections and support Nigeria's democracy.
The EU Mission is in Nigeria for the seventh time to observe and render their full support as a neutral body during the 2023 elections as well as make recommendations that would reform and further strengthen the country's Democratic process .
