NYSC DG Wants Corps Members
To Promote Unity.
Director-General of the National Youth Service
Corps, Brigadier General Y.D Ahmed, is urging Corps members to serve as
exemplary ambassadors, and promote unity wherever they are posted.
Ahmed disclosed this during the closing
ceremony of the orientation exercise for the 2024 Batch A Stream 2 corps
members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Wamakko Local Government Area
of Sokoto State.
Represented by the NYSC Coordinator for Sokoto
State, Alhaji Usman Yakubu Yaro, the Director-General spoke on the importance of
upholding a positive reputation and avoiding involvement in criminal activities
and warned the Corps Members against night journey.
He also urged them to continue with the
post-camp training of the Skill Acquisition Entrepreneurship Development programme
and avail themselves at all times at their places of primary assignments.
The DG advised them to respect the culture and
traditions of the people of their host communities, adding that, the highlight
of the event was the distribution of the posting letters to the successful
Corps Members.
