Taraba State Governor
AgbuKefas has approved the appointment of additional 573 political aides.
A statement signed by
the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Gebon Timothy Kataps said,
with the exception of the commissioners, the state now has a total of 707
special aides.
This is coming after he
had earlier appointed 134 persons who have not been assigned with
responsibilities, and the new appointees are as well expected to serve as
Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, Special Advisers, Community
Special Assistants, among others.
Though the appointment
was said to have been in continuation of the governor’s efforts to enhance
governance and service delivery to the people of the state, some concerned
residents have continued to frown at the development.
Describing the
governor’s action as uncalled for, a party chieftain, who spoke with our
reporter, said the appointment was not going to attract any form of development
to the state.
