Gov. Bago Declares State Of Emergency On Thuggery.

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has declared a state of emergency on terror and directed security agencies to deal with anyone trying to disrupt the peace in the state.

The governor gave the directive during the annual Mini Durbar organized by former Niger State Governor and Talban Minna, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, adding that, the state government will not condone any form of criminal activity in the state, as his administration has zero tolerance for rascality and thuggery.

He ordered the security agencies to deal decisively with anyone caught up in thuggery or other criminal activities, stressing that, sponsors of the criminal elements will also not be spared, even as buildings warehousing criminals would be demolished.

Speaking at the annual Mini Durbar, the Governor applauded Dr Babangida Aliyu for upholding tradition and the rich cultural heritage of horse riding, and reiterated that it has been an avenue for strengthening bonds and unity among the citizenry.

He used the occasion to call on the people in the state to come together, regardless of party affiliation, for the overall development of the state.
