2023 Elections: Umahi Defends Tinubu, says Nobody is Totally well, nobody is Totally sick

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi has reacted to the trending video of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) riding a spinning bike.

Tinubu on Sunday, October 2, 2022, posted a video of himself riding a bike to debunk the rumour that he had died.

Captioning the video, the APC presidential candidate wrote,“Many have said I have died; others claim I have withdrawn from the presidential campaign. Well… Nope.

“This is the reality: I am strong, I am healthy and I am READY to serve Nigerians from Day One.”

However, in an interview on Monday, October 3, 2022, on a National Television, Governor Umahi while reacting to a question about Tinubu’s health said those asking questions about his health do not know when they would die.

He said the presidential candidate has a life and does not need any proof of life.

He said, “Nobody is totally well, and nobody is totally sick; this is one point. Another point is that Nigerians are petty; some of us are petty.

Reacting to Governor David Umahi's statement is a Legal Practitioner who played Guest on ATN'S open conversation, Asim Adams. He said Governor David Umahi had no option than to defend his party Presidential Candidate, and this is a reflection of what happened, when the former President of Nigeria, Musa Ya'adua was critically sick.

Citing what happens in the United States, he said Presidential candidates normally present their medical certificate before contesting an Election, but this is not obtainable in Nigeria.

Barrister Asim further alleged that the Presidential Candidate of the APC is not well. He said what we Nigerians need from Tinubu is just a medical statement from his Doctors to say that he is healthy.
