Akwa Ibom state: PDP elects new LG leaders

People’s Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom State has elected its executive

committee members to pilot the affairs of the party for a four-year tenure at

the local government level across the state.

A statement by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr Borono Bassey, on Sunday,

said each of the 31 local government Areas in the State has a total of 18

Chapter Officers, including one Person Living with Disabilities, in the LGs,

thereby bringing the total of Persons Living With Disabilities to Thirty-one

across the State.

The statement said, the State Governor, Umo Eno, was among the eminent

members of the party elected as National Delegate out of the 31 delegates

elected in each of the local governments, adding that the governor, in his

goodwill message to all the Local Government Areas, which the Elders and

stakeholders delivered of the party, praised the unity of purpose and dogged

resolve to victory that has remained as the defining traits of the party in the

State.

The Governor charged the newly elected officials to be prepared to work

assiduously to steady the Party on the Path of successive electoral conquest

in Akwa Ibom, while, the chairman of the PDP, Aniekan Akpan, while

addressing stakeholders, reminded them of the need to elect officers who

are ready to make the needed sacrifices of stewardship that will draw more

faithful supporters to the PDP in Akwa Ibom State
