JAMB Speaks
Over False Claims.
Joint Admissions and
Matriculation Board has denied a viral report alleging that an unidentified
lady allegedly got a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, score without
participating in the exercise.
This is coming after an
online platform had reported how a Facebook user, Gozie, raised an alarm,
alleging that a lady who did not sit for the UTME examination got her scores.
According to the report,
Gozie alleged that the girl, who was supposed to take the exam at 7 am, but all
the systems at her centre were faulty, mysteriously got scores for her
examination.
Reacting, JAMB in a
statement issued by its spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, said the report was fake,
describing it as malicious and a calculated attempt to undermine the integrity
of the Board and urged the general public to disregard “such irresponsible
publications”.
The statement also said,
JAMB while, investigating some of the allegations, discovered that some of the
mischief makers copy results sent to other candidates, as well as edit the
details sent to themselves and then parade this as emanating from the board,
adding that, it will continue to protect the integrity of its systems against
such malicious actors, who are hell-bent on creating confusion where none
existed.
