Security Operatives Arrest 4 Students Over Fees Hike.
Security operatives have arrested students of the University of Ibadan for
protesting against the recent
increment of the institution’s fees.
The students were arrested by the security operatives of the institution
and were later handed over to
men of the Joint Security Network in the state also known as Operation
Burst and, during the
inauguration of the newly elected Students Union executives, the students
displayed placards with an
inscription “No to fee hike”.
The inauguration was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the university,
Professor Kayode Adebowale
and other principal officers of the institution while, the arrested
students include, Ayodele Aduwo,
Adeyeye Olorunfemi, Nice Linus, and Mide Gbadegbesin.
Public Relations Officer of the institution, Adejoke Akinpelu, said that
the rumor of the students arrest
was mere propaganda by the students.
