The contractor handling the Obiaruku Technical college, Obiaruku, ukwauani local government area has been directed to redouble efforts to ensure completion of the project before October 31st.


The state Governor and Vice-presidential Candidate of the People's Democratic Party, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa gave the directive during an inspection of the project.


Senator Okowa said the prompt completion of the job would enable students already admitted to resume academic studies


He said the needed staff had already been recruited and called on the contractor to speed up work to enable students resume studies at the school.


The Governor who said the classrooms and other facilities were ready for the take off of full academic activities disclosed that the road leading to the technical college had already been contracted to same contractor to be constructed after the rains.


Governor Okowa also inspected the ongoing construction of a bridge across River Ethiope in Obiaruku and the road to Eziokpor-Obiogo, Eziokpor-Umuoshi and Eziokpor- unor road all in Ukwuani Local Government Area.


He was conducted round the projects by the State Commissioner for Works in charge of Urban and Highways Mr. Noel Omodon and his Technical Education Counterpart, Princess Shola Daibo, where he expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work done.


The Governor expressed optimism that the bridge across River Ethiope would be completed in December and upon completion would enable people access their farm land as well as connect them to neighbouring communities.


The President General of Eziokpor community Mr. Duke Oliseyenum thanked the Governor for embarking on the project and express the hope that the bridge would positively impact the economy of the town.
