The Federal Government has inaugurated a new committee for the development of a ‘3rd National Action Plan’ aimed at addressing women’s peace and security issues in line with the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 which emphasized the increased participation of women in security sector institutions.
The Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen expressed optimism that the Committee will capture peace and security issues in all humanitarian matters and increase participation of women in peace building.
She made the disclosure while inaugurating the Technical Working Committee for the development of Nigeria’s 3rd National Action Plan on women, Peace and Security in Abuja.
