Bago Says Killing Of 6 Military Personnel Is Provocative.
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has condemned the killing of a captain and five soldiers in an ambush by bandits, describing the incident as atrocious, provocative and unacceptable.
The governor who disclosed this in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, in Minna expressed his deepest sympathy with the security agencies, who daily make sacrifices to ensure the safety of citizens, with most of them paying the supreme price.
Bago assured the Nigerian Army and every other conventional and non-conventional security agency that, his administration will not rest on its oars in providing all the needed support towards halting the nefarious activities of bandits.
He also commiserated with the families of the slain officer and men of the Nigerian army, as well as a vigilante, promising that their deaths would not be a waste.
This is coming after bandits on Friday stopped and killed some security personnel, comprising a captain, soldiers, and a vigilante, while on their way to respond to a distress call around Bassa and Alawa communities in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
