Govt.
Assures Security Of Schools, Others.
Zamfara State Government has assured that schools in the
state will be secured, saying it is committed to being security-conscious to ensure
that every part of the state is accessible to residents, especially teachers
and students.
State Commissioner of Education, Science, and Technology,
Wadatau Madawaki, gave this assurance during a meeting with the Permanent
Secretary, Directors, and Civil Society Technical Team on Safe School
Initiatives in Zamfara State.
According to him, successes have been recorded in the
fight against banditry, as some schools out of the 168 schools that were in the
red zone have been directed to resume, leaving only 75 schools in bandits’
control areas.
He added that the state government had offset the debt
that the previous administration owed the National Examination Council and
secured the original certificates for candidates of public schools who sat for
the 2019, 2020, and 2021 examinations.
The Zamfara State Government said it will provide a
secure environment for residents to go about their legitimate endeavors
peacefully, which it said is one of the aspirations of the administration.
