Osun State Internal Revenue Service says it would begin to clamp down on
business premises that have failed to fulfill their tax obligations to the
government.
A statement he issued by the Information Officer, Oluwaseun Ayeni, said the
agency chairman, Adesola Adewumi, gave the warning during an awareness
campaign held in Osogbo, the state capital, warning that, the state
government would seal off the defaulting business premises, Adewumi said
all tax-defaulting businesses in the state should pay up their dues before the
clampdown would begin.
The chairman, who was represented by the Director of Legal and
Enforcement of the Agency, Deji Atoyebi, said the statewide enforcement was
due by May and therefore advise all tax defaulting businesses in the state to
avoid any inconveniences that may arise during the closure.
