The Peoples Democratic Party PDP has submitted it petition letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) questioning some alleged irregularities in the just concluded presidential elections.

The National Chairman of the Party, Iyorchia Ayu also demanded total cancellation of the February 25th 2023 presidential election, calling on INEC to do the needful by conducting a fresh presidential elections that will be accepted by Nigerians and the International communities.

Ayu was speaking during a peaceful protest to the headquarters of the independent national electoral commission (INEC) in Abuja. 

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) having disagreed with the Independent National Electoral Commission's declaration of the All Progressive Congress(APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu, as the winner of the 2023 presidential election.

The leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) criticized INEC for not uploading the of the results of the election on the Result Viewing Portal (IReV) from polling units on election day.

The PDP national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu also accusing INEC of manipulating the results of the election to favor Bola Tinubu and the All progressives congress APC.

The PDP Chairman, while presenting the petition at the INEC headquarters insisted democracy must thrive in the country.

The INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Voter Education, and Publicity, Mr. Festus Okoye, received the protest letter from the National Chairman, PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, saying the commission will work the observation presented adding that the commission do not have any allegiance to any candidate.
