Ekiti state: Biodun unveils committee on N70,000 minimum wage

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has raised a 13- member negotiation

committee preparatory to the commencement of payment of the new

minimum wage in the state.

The Special Adviser to the governor on Media, Yinka Oyebode, who disclosed

in a statement in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, said, the first meeting of the

committee is slated for Wednesday, September 4” and recalled that

President Bola Tinubu had in July signed the new minimum wage stipulating

N70,000 monthly to law.

Oyebode, said, the negotiation committee would be chaired by the Head of

Service, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi, adding that, members of the committee

were drawn from government and organised labour in the state.

He listed members from the government side as the Commissioner for

Finance, Akintunde Oyebode; Special Advisor on Labour Matters; ⁠Kayode

Fatomiluyi; and the Accountant General and Permanent Secretary, Mrs

Titilayo Olayinka, and others, while, members from the Organised Labour are

Chairman, Joint Negotiation Council, were Olufemi Ajoloko; Chairman,

Nigeria Labour Congress, and Olatunde Kolapo; Chairman, Trade Union

Congress, as well as others.
